Gingerbread Haus

I ran across this fun felt! I know it's meant to be an animal design, looks to me like giraffe, but thinking of Christmas all the time it just struck me as Gingerbread Haus! So - Excited! here is my draft and finished product should be up real soon!!!

Whew!~ that was fun!

Ok! It's done!
I had a blast working on this piece! I have a new place to sit and check emails and work on advertising (and follow some of my favorite shows!)
I love the clean white look - makes me want to focus more! and I don't know if you can see it clearly there on the right hand side on the lower shelf but I have this FABULOUS find to share:

it looks to me like it is a beaker holder for a lab, but I use it to keep my pliers and scissors and it looks great!
And let's not forget the main reason I decided to go through the work of salvaging this piece:
A place to store all of my felts!!! now they are out of the reach of Loki who LOVES to get into my stuff!

Baby it's cold outside!

My word! it is noon and it is 38 degrees out there! did you know that paint is temperamental? Yep - and it does not like the cold! Yesterday I was able to get the piece sanded and primed but this morning around 7am I schlepped it into the house so that I could paint inside.

This way I can continue my work instead of sitting here watching the thermometer ...and not freeze my digits off!
(kitty likes me working inside too! see him in the sunlight there checking out the new piece!)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! At the beginning of each year I have my own re-take on a Hawaiian tradition that I heard of once: on each of the first 12 days of the year I get rid of 12 things. It's a great incentive to clean out and pass along things I no longer want or need and get a fresh start for the year to come!
While going through things to get rid of I decided: I have not redecorated my craft space since ...well I ......can't remember when! So I decided that I wanted to start the year out by revamping my craft space. I do need more space to hold all of my fabulous felts and supplies!
And I happen to have salvaged this great piece that was headed to THE LAND WE SHALL NOT NAME!
and I plan on spending the day cleaning, sanding and painting it! OH BOY AM I EXCITED!!!!!
